This book is about the ability to achieve goals over the long run. When I first read it, I found it very hard to access. However, over time I have adopted some of the ideas it holds.
- A internal counsel: Hill suggests chosing a group of people you admire and using them as 'internal counsel members' to run ideas past. I used this idea when determining my core values through assisning each value to a person who embodied that quality.
- Long run thinking: Hill speaks to being patient with goals and how they are achieved. He doesn't say this directly but instead through stories (which makes it a lot harder to pick up). However, this is truly a great concept for reaching our dreams.
